A Jewish Future for Our Children

Our inaugural Hebrew School year is dedicated to
Ariel and Kfir Bibas

Ariel and Kfir Bibas

Ariel and Kfir Bibas

Ariel and Kfir Bibas deserved to grow up. To learn their first Hebrew letters. To come home singing a Jewish song. To ask questions, celebrate Jewish holidays, and discover the pride and joy of being Jewish.

That future was taken from them.

Three years after the October 7, 2023 terrorist attacks, Chabad of Arcadia launched its first Hebrew School. We dedicated all the Torah learning of our inaugural year to Ariel and Kfir, with a commitment to help Jewish children live the dream those two boys never got to live: growing up with a strong Jewish education and pride in who they are.

This dedication asks something of us.

It asks us to take responsibility for the Jewish childhood we can fortunately still give our own children. To make room in their lives for learning, for mitzvot, for Jewish friendships, and for the discovery that they belong to a people with a remarkable story—and have their own part to play in it.

Our children deserve to know more than why people hate Jews. They deserve to know why we love being Jewish.

They deserve the excitement of preparing for a holiday, the confidence of reading a Hebrew word, and the freedom to ask a question. They deserve a Jewish identity rooted in knowledge and lived experience, with warm memories they can carry into adulthood.

To every Jewish parent: make sure your child receives a Jewish education.

You don’t need to be religious. You don’t need to know Hebrew. You don’t need to have received that education yourself. You can give your child the opportunity to learn, and discover alongside them.

If you have been waiting for the right time, let this be the reason to begin. Childhood moves quickly. The connection we help our children build today can sustain them for a lifetime.

We cannot restore the years stolen from Ariel and Kfir. We can fill the years ahead for our Jewish children with learning, belonging, and joy.

Let their names move us to action. Give your child a Jewish future they can understand, cherish, and proudly carry forward.

Your child’s Jewish journey can begin here.
